The 2004 Carnival of Golf is just around the corner and entry forms are now available at the Club, on the website (www.portarlingtongolf.com.au) or at a number of locations around Portarlington and St Leonards. You may recall, entries for most events filled very quickly last year, so if you are planning to play this year, it is advisable to return your completed entry very quickly.

This year's program is once again balanced to provide events that will accommodate golfers of all levels. It has also been organized to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to win one of the 150 plus trophies that will be available. The Club has always provided sensational trophies and this year is no exception, the trophies will be outstanding. The program commences with the N H Abbey First National Real Estate Annual Open over 36 holes and maintains that high standard of tournament throughout the 8 days. The supporting fixture includes the Ladies Annual Open, the Geelong & District Veterans Bellarine Golf Classic, Stabeford Championships for men & ladies as well as a number of mixed events and team events for both sexes.

The Carnival provides an atmosphere that belongs to championship golf and to support the hype, the golf course at that time of the year is always in prime condition. The enjoyment of competition, friendly rivalry and the sport of golf is all part of the carnival ambiance. Players ascend from the four corners of the state, interstate and on occasions from overseas to play in what has been described as the carnival of carnivals. If you haven't competed in the carnival before, don't miss this year and for those players who have experienced the atmosphere of past carnivals, you won't want to miss out, so again get your entries in promptly.

Further to the golf, the Club will present a social calendar that will entertain and provide quality meals at very low prices. The highlights will be free entertainment on all nights over the Carnival, except for Thursday, with Meal Deals ranging from $8 to $13. Also a spectacular Saturday Night on 4th September where the Club presents presents a Night Club atmosphere with a performance from 'CREEDENCE CLEARWATER RECYCLED' starting at 9.00pm. Entrance is free, however as we expect a full house, we advise you pre-book your entrance to the show. Pre booked entrance tickets will be supplied at a fee of your $5.00 each. On the Wednesday night the Club offers its first ever 'Special Seafood Buffet'. This will provide a first class selection of seafood, a self serve buffet of all you can eat seafood at the reasonable price of $35.00 per person. Bookings are essential and free entertainment will be presented by Colin Wells.
