RULE OF THE MONTH - JANUARY 2016
Each month we will be featuring a rule, sometimes but not necessarily controversial, as it applies to our course. If you have a question or rule that you believe needs clarification, or may be abused at our course, please send an email with details to info@portarlingtongolf.com.au
Rule Changes : A new “Rules of Golf” book is now available, and may be collected at the club. Some of the more noticeable changes to the rules effective immediatelyare as follows:
Rule 14-1b : Anchoring the club: A new rule has been introduced to prohibit anchoring the club, either “directly” or by use of an “anchor point”, during the making of a stroke. If you are in any doubt, carefully check this rule.
Rule 18-2b: Ball moving after address: This rule has been withdrawn. This means that when a ball moves after a player has addressed it, the application of a penalty under rule 18-2 will be based purely on whether the player caused the ball to move.
