CAPTAIN’S REPORT – 30th January With Ian McAuliffe
Australia Day Cup - Congratulations to Jenny Pearson who won the ladies’ comp with 37 points and to the men’s winner Graeme Wren with 43 points on a count back from Jim Pyke.
Congratulations also to John and Olivia Bowman for their win of the Ashes Trophy, Sunday 29th January.

Congratulations to Bernard Reed on winning the monthly medal for January 2017.
Members please note as of the 1st of January 2017, Golf Victoria have recommended the following rule, and we will adopt this as a Local rule within our Club:
“Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1 are modified as follows:
When a player’s ball lies on the putting green, there is no penalty if the ball or ball-marker is accidentally moved by the player, his partner, his opponent, or any of their caddies or equipment.
The moved ball or ball-marker must be replaced as provided in Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1.
This Local Rule applies only when the player’s ball or ball-marker lies on the putting green and any movement is accidental.
Note: If it is determined that a player’s ball on the putting green was moved as a result of wind, water or some other natural cause such as the effects of gravity, the ball must be played as it lies from its new location. A ball-marker moved in such circumstances is replaced.”

Last call for entries for the Jack and Pat Taylor Open Ambrose Event on Saturday the 3rd December - entries are at reception.
Tuesday the 6th of December - Christmas Breakup - 9am shotgun start. Entries are in the Pro Shop, please include your $15 payment, and name with your entry.
Friday 9th of December, Senior Social Christmas break-up. 10am SGS - 9 holes - enter at the Pro Shop.

Mens December monthly medal will be on Saturday 10th December (rather than Saturday the 3rd - due to the Jack & Pat Taylor Open Ambrose). Saturday the 10th is now a stroke event.
