It looks as though winter is definitely upon us with chilly mornings and rain bands hitting the golf course. The course is holding up well with the amount of traffic that has been on it since the course re opened. The scores have definitely reflected a bit of rust for all the golfers resuming and i am sure after a few rounds the good scores will start to flow.
We have seen full fields since we re opened and in some cases members missing out on a game. If you realise that you are unable to fulfil your booking can you please cancel as soon as practical.
Key personnel of the golf club met on Monday 25th of May to discuss the State Governments easing of some restrictions. The restrictions that relate to playing golf will come into effect from Monday June 1st. The big one for us is that a social gathering is now seen as 20 people which allows us more flexibility with how the course can operate. Below is a list of the main points to consider.
All Competition times will now have 8 minute intervals.
Tuesday Competition one tee start
7:30 am - 12:45 pm. This will allow 160 players.
Wednesday will be in following format.
Ladies only Competition between 8:00 am and 10.30 am
Men’s only Competition from 10:45 am - 12:45 pm (this is a trial and temporary as an additional competition for male players missing out on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday competition).
Thursday competition will remain the same and the 11 hole competition will follow as normal.
Saturday competitions commencing from June 6 we will be reverting back to using the 1st and 10th tees. When light permits tee times will alter.
Winter Times 7:30 am - 9:00 am then 11:25 am - 12:45 pm.
This will give us approximately 184 players.Sundays competitions will continue and as from Sunday June 7 the course will be reopened to social groups and social players along with a members competition mixed in as per the normal fixture.
June long weekend we will hold an additional men’s and womens competition on the Monday 8th June. This competition will be played among social golfers as normal public holiday competitions.
All the current policies regarding the golf course that we have been playing under over the past two weeks remain in place and we feel that the above changes will still keep us in line with the social gathering and social distancing rules that are still in place.
