Well we are fast approaching spring with more day light and warmer weather.
It is unfortunate that due to COVID we are missing out on some very important events such as the Club Championships (CC). The CC are scheduled to begin in September with the Mens event commencing on Saturday 12 September and the Ladies on Wednesday 16 September.
As we are all aware the Victorian Government will make the next announcement regarding restrictions on 13 September making it impossible for the Club to hold the CC. A decision has been made to postpone the CC until after the 13 September so we have a better understanding on what we can and cannot do.
The club’s best option is to re-schedule the CC in November as there are four Saturdays and four Wednesdays so we will be able to complete the event in one month unlike the September schedule where we have to take a break for the Grand Final.
The reason for the November timing is the greens will be cored during October and re scheduling to November will give the greens time to recover, plus hopefully the weather will be kind to us.
The Committee will make further announcements after 13 September including a revised schedule.
