Course Superintendent’s Report

Date: 10/09/20

The month of August saw us receive 91mm of rain; which is slightly below the average of 38mm. This brings the total for the year up to 472mm. Up until this time last year we had only received 315mm.

Life on the golf course has been slightly different the last month; all staff are only working three days per week and the course is generally fully booked each day with golfers. Consequently, we are only performing the very basics in terms maintenance and any additional improvements to the course and surrounds have been put on hold.

Two weeks ago, a major storm wreaked havoc through the golf course, causing significant tree damage. The clean-up work is still progressing but the property is slowly starting to look like its old self again. Damage was also done to the maintenance sheds seeing three roller doors blown in and destroyed.

The coming month will see tree clean up continue and, when time permits some tree planting as well.
