A review of the 1st Hole has been completed by the course architects, Crafter & Mogford to address the issue of balls landing in the outdoor area of the clubs View Room. The outcome of this review has established the moving of the 1stTee forward of the path ensures the safety of patrons sitting in this area. With the Tee forward it is unlikely that a golf ball will now land inside the outdoor area.
Screening and planting was also considered as an option but this would not address the safety issue and was also considered aesthetically unpleasing and would look out of place.
The full layout of the 1st hole including all the recommendations for overall improvements including expanding the size of the tee, moving of bunkers and overall improvements of the surrounding area has been included with this update.
The Course Committee and Board unanimously supported the recommendations of Crafter & Mogford for the moving and expansion of the 1st Tee. Works will begin early in 2021 on the expansion of the 1st tee with all other works to be considered as part of the overall course improvements that will be presented to members in 2021.
