To all Members,

As we all know the Club Championships (CC) concluded on Sunday 29/11 and according to feed back I have received so far the format was thought to be successful.

Congratulations to all winners and it was good to see play offs in two grades.

All results are available on the web and Matts Pro shop News. The results will also be available on the kiosk in the club foyer.

The Members that played on the final day all enjoyed the concept and it was great to see many Members watching and supporting the final groups and we look forward to this final day being bigger and better each year.

I understand that some Members have their doubts about the format we used for the CC this year, but I feel we should review the way we present our major events to make them more inclusive to all members.

At our December committee meeting the club hosted Chris Crabbe from Golf Australia. Chris talked about his role at GA and what was happening within his jurisdiction, which takes in the Geelong region and the Western district.

Chris also mentioned that in 2021 GA is planning to recommence the events that were cancelled due to Covid.

During the meeting we also discussed GA Vision 2025 which was released in 2018. If Members have not read Vision 2025 I encourage all to take a look at the GA web site and read the many stories that Clubs throughout Australia have been working on, especially the story from Huntingdale. It is fascinating reading and I feel the time is right to open this as a discussion point which I am sure the Member Services Portfolio rep (Bill Reid) will address going forward.
