Portarlington’s most picturesque hole, the 17th is a stunning Par 3 played over water and sand to a green that slopes severely back to front and right to left. The challenge on this hole is not necessarily the mental challenge of hitting over sand and water but rather to ensure that your ball remains below the hole at all times. There are three bunkers that guard the front of the green and therefore keeping the ball under the hole is often easier said than done. The green here is extremely quick and the breaks are very sharp.
