A summer update from the President.

What a way we have come since the refurbishment was completed last June! The refurbishment not only changed the way our club looks but also the way it feels. It is now a far more pleasant and
welcoming place to visit, evidenced by the fact that our membership has now
grown to more than 3140 (750 of which are golfing members). The Ultimate Member
special draws have proved to be a great success as has our Gold Card Members
Draw on Wednesday nights.

Our business is trading ahead of last year and is ahead of budget. The outstanding areas being the bar and bistro while golf is holding its own and gaming is still defying state trends.

We have updated some bistro equipment to better serve our diners and welcomed Kym Robertson to manage our bistro floor to enhance and complete your dining experience.

The office area has been refurbished after several episodes of storm damage and the computer system has been upgraded along with several other items of vital office equipment.

Still inside the clubhouse, Leaderboard was installed to show the day’s scores and a card scanning system installed. Whilst the scanner has had many teething problems, it is not too far
away from being released to the golfers to input their own scores.

The installation of the emergency power plant has been completed and as recent outages have proved, the plant works well.

We have also purchased a new courtesy bus to better service our members and guests.

Last year the board developed a Strategic Plan to guide the club through the next 5 - 10 years and beyond. An essential part of that plan is to develop a Masterplan for the redevelopment of
the clubhouse and over the next 12 months that plan will be created.

The Board has approved the installation of a TAB in the space currently occupied by the Boardroom. It is currently planned to have the Tab operating by April.

The board has also decided not to proceed with the building of a new buggy shed. A plan for a new shed within the confines of the current shed precinct was considered but necessarily involved
rebuilding some of the existing machinery sheds to accommodate it. The cost was
considerable and considered unjustifiable at this time.

A Landscape Masterplan has also been developed for the clubhouse precinct and work will start a little later this year.

Out on the course, we have continued with our machinery replacement program, completed the 13th fairway bunkers, completed the new 12th hole and continued with other course
improvements e.g. tree work and turfing bare areas whilst maintaining a very
high standard golf course.

And if all this wasn’t enough, at the CCAV AWARDS the Club won the award for Best Club Refurbishment and Best Golf Club, fitting recognition for all those staff and members whose untiring
efforts make this Club what it is today.
